In a significant step forward for international trade, India and the United Kingdom have reached a landmark free trade agreement. As part of the deal, India has agreed to drastically reduce its automotive import tariffs—from over 100% to just 10%—making it a major win for the UK’s car industry.
The agreement also includes substantial duty cuts on a range of British goods. Products like whisky, gin, cosmetics, and medical devices will now face lower import taxes when entering the Indian market, paving the way for stronger business ties and expanded consumer choice.
