ITR Refund Update: Millions of taxpayers filed their Income Tax Returns (ITR) before the deadline of September 16, 2025, and are now eagerly waiting for their refunds. Usually, the refund amount gets credited within a week of filing the return. In some cases, it takes only 2–3 days. However, if your refund has not yet arrived, it is important to first confirm whether your ITR form has been accepted by the Income Tax Department and if the refund process has actually started. Often, minor mistakes while filing can cause delays in receiving the money.
Processing Begins After E-VerificationThe refund process begins only after the e-verification of your ITR. In most cases, the refund is credited to the taxpayer’s bank account within 2 to 4 weeks of successful filing. If the refund still does not show up in your account within this period, you may need to recheck your return for errors, respond to any notice from the Income Tax Department, or track your refund status on the e-filing portal. Sometimes, larger refund amounts also take longer to be processed.

Your bank account is not pre-validated.
The name on your bank account does not match the details on your PAN card.
